Edmonton Public Schools is a district of choice. In the spring of each year, students and families have the opportunity to choose their school for the following year.
Pre-enrol on SchoolZone
Between March 13 and April 18, 2017, parents of students currently attending District schools can select their child’s preferred school for 2017-2018 by signing in to their parent SchoolZone account. You can even use the mobile version of SchoolZone to complete the process directly from your smartphone!

Each school has a designated attendance area. Students who live in this area, or who move into the area after the pre-enrolment phase will be entitled to register at that school, providing adequate programming is available.
The local school will always be the first point of entry. This means that a student who wishes to register in a grade 7, 8 or 9 programs and who lives within the Highlands School attendance area should contact our school first. The Highlands School attendance area is bordered on the north by the Yellowhead Trail, the east by 48 Street, the south by the North Saskatchewan River, and the west by the LRT tracks.
When you contact us, we will arrange for an intake interview. The parent / guardian will need to come in with the student to talk with us. Proof of residence of the child, birth certificate and latest progress report are required so that we can make the most appropriate placement. The interview generally takes 30 – 45 minutes, and includes a tour of the school, and meeting some of the staff. For students registering after the first day of school, they will generally start classes the following day.
After filling out the registration form please fill out the FOIP Declaration form. Please print, sign and bring with your registration form.
